Rules

These apply everywhere MaeloRO exists: in game, on Discord and on the forum. Playing here means you accept them.

In game

Accounts

• Your account is yours. Sharing it is at your own risk — we will not restore items or zeny lost to someone you gave access to.
• Never sell, buy or trade accounts, characters or items for real money. Any account involved is banned, both sides.
• Playing several clients at once is allowed. Using extra accounts to farm the same event, vote reward or turn-in twice is not.
• Do not use a name that impersonates staff, imitates another player, or is a slur. Staff will rename or ban it.

Fair play

• No bots, macros or automation of any kind. That includes auto-attack tools, auto-pot programs, third-party clients and anything that plays for you while you are away. Staff run checks and act manually — if you cannot answer one, you are botting.
• No exploiting bugs. If something gives you items, zeny, EXP or an advantage it clearly should not, stop and report it. Using it instead is a ban and the gains are removed.
• Reporting a bug you found honestly will never get you punished. Hiding one and farming it will.
• No stalling, blocking or trapping other players in dungeons, at portals or on quest NPCs.
• No abusing the PvP or Battleground systems: no feeding, no rigging matches, no farming your own alts.

Trading and the market

• Scamming is a ban. Trade windows, promised refunds, "hold this for me", middlemen — if you take what is not yours, you are done.
• Vending prices are yours to set. Deliberately misleading names on a vending shop are not.
• Real-money trading in either direction is banned, including selling zeny, items or leveling services.

Conduct

• No harassment, threats, stalking or hate speech — about race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality or anything else.
• No spamming the public chats, and no flooding them with the same message.
• Do not pretend to be a Game Master. Staff never ask for your password — nobody from MaeloRO will ever ask for it. Anyone who does is trying to steal your account.
• Speak whatever language you like, but keep it civil.

Discord

• Everything above applies here too, starting with no advertising other servers.
• Use channels for what they are named. Bug reports go in #bugs-suggestions, not general chat.
• No mass pings. Do not @everyone, @here or spam-mention staff. Ask your question and wait — staff read everything.
• No NSFW content, gore, or shock material anywhere, including avatars, nicknames and status.
• No unsolicited DM advertising to our members. This is treated exactly like public advertising: instant ban.
• No drama threads, call-out posts or witch hunts. If you have a problem with a player, open a ticket instead of starting a fight in chat.
• Do not post other people's personal information. Ever.
• No malicious links, fake giveaways, crypto pitches, or "free item" scams.
• You must meet Discord's own minimum age and follow their Terms of Service.

Forum

• Search before you post — your question is probably answered already.
• Post in the right section, and give your thread a title that says what it is about.
• No necroposting. Do not reply to threads dead for months unless you are adding something genuinely new.
• No double posting. Edit your last post instead of replying to yourself.
• No advertising, referral links or self-promotion for anything unrelated to MaeloRO.
• Keep signatures and avatars reasonable in size and free of offensive content.
• Do not post pirated files, cheat tools, client modifications that break the rules, or anything illegal.
• Arguments happen. Personal attacks do not.

How this is enforced

Most breaches get a warning first, then a mute or a temporary ban, then a permanent one. Some do not: advertising another server, real-money trading, scamming and botting can be permanent on the first offence.

• Staff decisions are final in the moment. Argue it in a ticket, not in public chat.
• To appeal, open a ticket on the site or on Discord with your account name and what happened. Appeals made by insulting the staff go nowhere.
• Not knowing a rule is not a defence, but honesty helps. Admitting what you did gets you further than denying it.
• These rules can change as the server grows. Anything important gets announced on Discord and in Updates.
